Kitchener Market

Junk Music Jam

with Mary Neil, the City of Kitchener Artist in Residence.

This event has been postponed. We will update when more information is known.

Mary Neil is a community musician and the City of Kitchener's Artist in Residence for 2019. She travels around the city creating spaces that allow participants to make music that speaks to what they feel is most significant in their community. On July 13, Mary will be stopping at the Kitchener Market looking for people to create a piece of music around the importance of the Market and its significance in our community. No musical experience is necessary, just intrigue and a willingness to engage! Participants will use junk instruments (instruments created from materials diverted from the landfill and recycling plants) to accompany them as they perform their piece near the Marketplace. The performance will be recorded and posted online for all to see!
