All summer camps are cancelled until further notice:

City of Kitchener camps cannot proceed in the same format as they have in previous years given new constraints imposed by the COVID-19 situation. As a result, summer camp programs are cancelled. The City of Kitchener refunds will occur automatically. Staff are working to process refunds as soon as possible. Due to the volume of refunds there may be some delays.

The City is exploring alternative summer camp programming options that would maintain physical distancing measures, social gathering guidelines and other protocols, should the provincial government allow day camp programming to resume.

We love it when kids have fun at the Kitchener Market! Bring your little ones to enjoy live music, art, DIY workshops, cooking classes and more! Our programs foster a safe and fun environment where kids can express themselves while learning new skills.

If you’re hungry before or after an activity, don’t worry! You can stop by the Food Hall for a healthy and kid-friendly meal or snack. There are many options for adults, too. Our Food Hall vendors are open from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. from Tuesday – Friday and 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Does your child have a birthday or other celebration coming up? Consider renting our Marketplace event venue. We can customize any rental package to suit your group and budget.

Note: All programs designed for kids require supervision from a parent or guardian unless otherwise stated.

About our programs

Program dates are subject to change, please check our event calendar for more details.

Kids' Art

Artshine hosts FREE toddler programs every other Thursday at the Kitchener Market! See our Event Calendar for dates and details.

The Kid’s Art program is designed to encourage creativity through music, storytelling and art! Toddlers are welcomed with an uplifting song that focuses on the importance of inclusion and community. Artshine instructors use techniques that promote sensory development, fine motor skills and an appreciation for art!

Your little one is encouraged to participate in creating a fun art project that can be completed independently, or with the help from a caregiver/parent. Cognitive toys, dancing and story time will be integrated throughout each class to keep the attention of your little artist's!

Daycare groups, Pre-school classes and families are all welcome! Best efforts are made to offer art projects that require minimal help from the parent/caregiver, so that each child is able to explore, experiment and create works of art independently.

This program is recommended for children aged 2 - 6 and their parents, guardians or caregivers.

Kids' Art is a drop-in program, but you can reserve a free spot by calling 226-647-2777 or emailing ARTSHINE.

Kids' Hop - Music for kids

Bring your little ones to Kids Hop at the Kitchener Market every other Tuesday from 11 a.m. - noon for a fabulous, fun-filled morning! Be prepared for a high-energy, hopping good time including lots of group singing and dancing with our performers, including Erick Traplin, a popular local musician.
